Tenmast Software's
Performance-based
Leadership Training

Dear Colleagues:

In 2003, the Columbia Housing Authority was failing. In the following two years I introduced a new organizational system to the agency which focused everybody’s energies on the key results we wanted while teaching all employees how to measure their progress toward those goals. Today the Columbia Housing agency is one of the most successful Low Income Public Housing agencies in our state and I attribute our success to the new organizational system we adopted in 2003.

As one of my colleagues in housing, I want to share with you how we created this wonderful experience at the Columbia Housing Authority. The system we used to achieve these amazing results is called performance-based management. It has been used by other housing agencies around the country to achieve results similar to ours. Many of the most successful businesses in this country have adopted performance management principals as well.

Tenmast Software, based in Lexington, Kentucky, has developed a one-day training to teach you about performance-based management. The training is specifically designed for Public Housing agencies and it will show you how to achieve the same high level of performance that we have achieved, using the same resources you have today. I will be hosting this training at my agency on Thursday, May 14, 2009 and I’d like to invite you and your management group to join me for this exciting opportunity.

As housing managers, we have a lot on our plates and little time to waste on experimentation with risky business ideas. Performance-based management has a long track record of success, driving high levels of performance in many different organizations, and I can attest that it works for Public Housing agencies.
